Iranian actor Bahram Radan has become a torch bearer at the 2018 Winter Olympics, South Korea.
According to a media report on Sunday, apart from the selection, the Iranian actor has been chosen as one of the event’s ambassadors who invite people to join Olympics in South Korea.
Before Radan, some other artists and celebrities, including American actor Tom Cruise, carried the Olympic torch as non-athlete figures.
The Torch Relay for the 2018 Winter Olympics, commonly known as PyeongChang 2018, will be organized under the slogan ‘Let Everyone Shine’, the event's press release said, adding that the banner "means the Olympic flame is never extinguished and sheds light on the dreams, passion, and future of everyone, anytime and anywhere."
Born in 1979, Bahram Radan studied Business Administration at Islamic Azad University.
The actor was nominated for the fifth Iran Cinema Celebration Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role by performing in ‘Swan Song’ (2000).
Radan also won a Fajr International Film Festival Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor by starring in ‘Candle in the Wind’ (2003) and ‘Santouri’ (2006).
He has appeared in ‘Gilaneh’ (2003), ‘The Verdict’ (2005), ‘Kan'an’ (2007), ‘Maritime Silk Road’ (2010) and ‘Ceasefire’ (2014).
In 2010, the artist was chosen to be the first Iranian ambassador against hunger for the UN World Food Program (WFP).
